How does Country Broadband Voice work?
Voice uses advanced Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology delivered through your Country Broadband equipment: plug a normal telephone into your modem and it just works. Calls never use your internet plan data.
Can I keep my business phone number?
In most cases, yes — we transfer (“port”) your existing number when you sign up. The transfer typically takes 5–10 business days, and our team walks you through it. You can also choose a new number instead.
Will Voice work with fax machines, alarm systems or credit card terminals?
Devices like fax machines, alarm systems and card terminals may not work reliably over VoIP phone service. If your business relies on one of these, tell your order specialist and we’ll talk through your options honestly before you sign up.
Do I need battery backup?
Like all VoIP phone service, Voice needs power to work — so it won’t place calls during a power outage without a battery backup. You’re free to purchase a compatible battery backup from any retailer you like.
